"Boo" - Got mail!

This actually scared the neighbor across the street in broad daylight! Good decorations! :-)

A real tombstone from Wayne Voyle's Great Great Grandfather who died October 25th, 1888!

See story below.

My "deck remnants" Haunted Grave Yard!

Oh NO! Don't throw that old lumber from your deck away! I have an idea!

The mail man needs to be entertained!

The yard from left to right. Scary!

Do you think the kids will love it?

Oh, no!!! Fluffy! Not the grave site.

Use the "kitty box" Fluffy! Bad Kitty!

"Welcome!"

Enter if you dare!

"Elvis is (decaying) in the buidling"!

You ain't a nothin' but a thigh bone......

Front porch- left!

I died with this stupid "Mini-Pearl" hat on... darn!!!!

Front porch -right!

Ooh, ooh, witchy woman!.......

"I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. Dead-mille!"

Everybody's got to get into the act!

Wonder what's in here?

If I had hands and arms, I'd find out. "I've evaporated and I can't get up!"

I'll cut-cha! Eeeeeowwwweeee!

Creepy mask, don't you think?

A stylish Scarecrow

This year's well-dressed scarecrow is wearing a t-shirt purchased at CVS and a flannel shirt which goes easily from daytime into the nighttime bewitching cocktail hour. Fa-BOO-lous!

Frank-in-the-box-stein.

"If I ever get out of here....I'll take off this scary looking orange pullover! What were they thinking???"

Halloween Yard Display 2007

It's that frightening time of year again when ghouls and ghosts prowl in the night.   Nothing screams spooky better than to dress up a yard.   This year, my neighbor across the street replaced their deck, just a week and 1/2 before October began.   I noticed the boards by the side of the road and asked if I could have them.   They said "yes", wondering what in the world I wanted with the trashed lumber.    As you can see above, I put it to good use for another month.

My neighbor, Wayne Voyles, had a real tombstone from his Great Great Grandfather in his garage.   The family discovered it had been broken and replaced the grave marker years ago.   The tombstone which Wayne loaned to the display is from October 25th, 1888!   His GGGF died when a tree he was cutting down fell on him and killed him.   I'm sure he had no idea that his grave marker would end up a Halloween Decoration in my yard!   Scary thought, isn't it?   Maybe my tombstone will end up a Halloween decoration for someone in 2157!   Who knows?   I know I surely wouldn't care by that time!   :-)   I thank Wayne for contributing to the display this year!   It's so fun!

The yard looks like "Christmas in Orange" at night.   It lights up great!   A Halloween Party goes on each year as neighbors and friends drop by to pass out candy to the kids!    A smoke machine casts an eerie mist over the yard and spooky music and songs kick from the DJ system on the front porch.   Horrifying, really!

Happy Halloween to all!- Doug
